Trio version. The cello emulates very low, indistinct oscillations, while piano and bass clarinet improvise around C# and D - in the interior of the sun, certain frequencies are amplified by constructive interference. Every six minutes the sun breathes in and out.
Recorded live at Friends Meeting House, Brighton, 25/4/13 by Danny Bright. Performance was part of The Notes Themselves concert featuring new compositions by Martin Messent, Mary Hampton, Lee Westwood and Steve Aston.

Icelandic folk songs sung with restraint and affection - plus, he feeds a goat kid with a milk bottle while dedicating the album to his grandmother. This is beautiful music tenderly delivered. Martin Messent
It may sound superficially like a retro late Coltrane sound-alike trip, but this band is deep - and a genuine jazz harp player! Awesome tunes and beautifully recorded. Martin Messent
Mark's played keyboards on my stuff for donkey's years and this is his first solo piano outing - it's a languorous, ECM inspired trip. Listen late at night in one sitting. Martin Messent
